Kickstart your Metabolism with Black Pepper

Jun 14, 2023

Black pepper is a powerful herb that can help kickstart your metabolism. Black pepper contains a compound called piperine, which is what gives black pepper such a pungent taste and aroma. Piperine has been shown to have various health benefits, including its ability to stimulate the digestive system and increase metabolism.

One way that piperine helps kickstart your metabolism is by increasing thermogenesis, which is the process of when your body generates heat and burns calories. Studies have shown that piperine can increase thermogenesis by increasing the activity of certain enzymes and altering the expression of genes involved in metabolism.

Piperine also helps improve nutrient absorption in the gut, which can support healthy digestion and metabolism. By enhancing the bioavailability of nutrients, piperine helps your body more effectively use the calories you consume and reduce the risk of nutrient deficiencies that can slow down your metabolism.

Difficulty Digesting Dairy? Try Drinking Non-Homogenized Milk

May 24, 2023

It can be difficult to find a milk alternative for people who have trouble digesting dairy, but non-homogenized milk can be a good option for people who still want to enjoy dairy without the digestive discomfort.

Non-homogenized milk is milk that has not undergone the homogenization process, which is a mechanical process that breaks up the fat in the milk into smaller particles so that they remain evenly dispersed in the milk. Homogenized milk has a consistent, smooth texture and appearance, but non-homogenized milk separates into cream and milk layers, along with chunks of fat.

Non-homogenized milk is can be easier to digest than homogenized milk. For people with dairy digestion issues, this can be very beneficial. The reason it is easier to digest is because the non-homogenized milk is not broken down into as small particles as it is in the homogenized milk. The fat particles in non-homogenized milk are bigger and more easily digested, which is what reduces the digestive...

The Daily Elixir to Slow Down Aging

Mar 02, 2023

Golden milk, also known as turmeric milk, is made by mixing non-homogenized cows milk with turmeric and cardamom. You can also add any other herbs you'd like.  Turmeric is not very easily absorbed through digestion, however the bacteria in the cows milk line the gut making it easier to absorb.   Adding cardamom and warming the milk reduces the inflammation caused by dairy.

Some of the benefits of turmeric and curcumin include:

  1. Anti-inflammatory properties: Curcumin has potent anti-inflammatory effects, making it a useful ingredient for managing conditions such as arthritis and digestive issues.

  2. Antioxidant benefits: Curcumin has strong antioxidant properties, which can help to protect cells from damage and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

  3. Cognitive function: Studies have shown that Curcumin may improve cognitive function, particularly in older adults.

  4. Heart health: Curcumin has been shown to have a positive impact on heart health, reducing the risk...

Stop Memory Loss with this Powerful Herb

Feb 28, 2023

Curcumin is a compound found in turmeric, which is commonly used for cooking. Curcumin has many health benefits.

Studies have shown that curcumin can improve memory and cognitive function for people with mild cognitive impairment, which is a condition that precedes the development of Alzheimer's disease. Curcumin has also been shown to reduce stress and inflammation, which can contribute to memory loss and cognitive decline.

Curcumin also helps improve memory by producing more of a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor, or BDNF. BDNF is essential for the growth and survival of neurons, and a decrease in BDNF levels has been linked to memory loss and other cognitive impairments.

The best way to consume turmeric is through golden milk. You can learn more about how to make it here.

Get glowing, flawless skin with this simple, easy, at-home face mask.

To make it:

- 1/3 tablespoon of turmeric

- 2/3 tablespoon of chickpea flower

- juice from 1/4 lemon

- whole milk (to form a paste)

- a few drops of mustard oil in colder seasons

- mix and apply to dry and clean skin

- once the mask feels dry, rinse it off. Be careful not to keep it on for too long as it can stain your face, I would recommend 15 minutes or so.

Turmeric and chickpea flour are both known for their skin benefits, and are commonly used in homemade skincare remedies.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It helps brighten the skin and reduce dark spots and has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, which can help combat acne and other skin issues. Asafoetida is a resinous gum derived from the roots of the Ferula plant. It has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic and Middle Eastern medicine as a digestive aid. Here are some ways in which asafoetida may help with digestion:
